Junior World Championships: Juan Martin Clavijo (COL) and Franziska Peitzmeier (GER) in the lead
For the second time world vaulting championships for juniors take place, the first were 2015 in Ermelo. Since then the European and World change in a two years rythm.
Day 01 at the championships in Ebreichsdorf (Lower Austria) began today (Wednesday, 02.08.) with the first junior compulsory male and female. On the way to a medal the athletes have to compete in two reounds, each existing of compulsory and freestyle.
In the junior class male the junior world champion of 2015 from Colombia, Juan Martin Clavijo, is in the lead ahead of Italy's Giovanni Bertolaso and Philipp Stippel from Germany. Austria's juniors Philip Clement (Lower Austria), Georg Gabl (Tyrol) and Florian Grill (Lower Austria) are on the eighth, eleventh and fourteenth rank.

In the junior class female the three Austrian girls are on a good way because Nicole Brabec (NÖ) is in the lead ahead of Franziska Peitzmeier from Germany and the Lower Austrian athlete Lena Birkenau. Championships newcomer Marie-Christine Clement (NÖ) actually ranks at the good tenth place.
